Welcome to the World

After 9 months of this (sorry I couldn't get the blog thing to cooperate with me, the pictures look all funny):

This is 39 weeks and 5 days

We receive this:
Tristan Bryant Woodruff
born November 25th, 2010
at 2:41 pm
6 lbs 1 oz
19 inches long

It was such a blessing that he was able to have come safely. My story is long but I will try to summarize it.
So on Wednesday, my water apparently broke around 5:00 pm but I wasn't quite sure that it had broke. At 10:00 we went to the hospital and were admitted because it had broke. They started me on pitocin and my body reacted to it really well. I was dilating very quickly. The problem was it was stressing Tristan out. His heartbeat dropped so low once that 4 nurses came running in (I was sleeping and when they came in I had no idea what was going on) and started working on me and the baby. They threw Scott a C-Section outfit to get dressed in because they thought I would have to go into an emergency C-Section. Luckily, we didn't have to and we got Tristan's heartbeat back up. I can't tell you how scared I was for my child. I just kept thinking of how I didn't want to lose him. At the time we did not know why that happened they just thought he was somehow sitting on his cord. Later when it was time to start pushing, it was also stressing out Tristan and his heartbeat would drop. We waited a long time because the doctor had to go deliver other babies (and I mean like 4 hours waiting while Tristan was basically sitting in the birth canal...talk about uncomfortable) but it was a good thing because his heartbeat stabilized and he wasn't as stressed out. The doctor had to use forceps (which tore me up pretty bad) but we got Tristan out safely. When he did come out, we figured out why he was stressing out so bad. His cord was wrapped around his legs 3 times and that's also why I couldn't push him out without the use of forceps. He did have muconium in his lungs so the NICU team was there to get it out of his lungs once he was born. He also wasn't breathing properly and had to go to the NICU for 4 1/2 hours. But Tristan is healthy and is doing great. I am doing just fine and I'm so grateful for our many blessings that Tristan was able to come safe and sound. We are so blessed to have him! It was an awesome Thanksgiving Day.

To me Tristan looks just like Scott. He has got the same eyes and even his hairline matches his father's! Haha!! He might have my bubbly nose but we're not for sure yet. I love my little man - he is the cutest and most perfect adorable baby I've ever seen!

See how he has his daddy's hairline?! So adorable

Tristan has these funny scowls he makes. Scott can imitate them quite well.
